Garda appeal after third man dies on the roads


A third man has died after two separate road accidents in Cavan and Dublin.

The 24-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Hartstown in West Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

He was taken to James Connolly Memorial hospital in Blanchardstown, where he died this morning.

A 21-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was also killed in the incident.

Elsewhere, in Cavan a man in his 50s has died after his tractor left the road and overturned on the Cootehill to Mountain Lodge Road at ten to 8 last night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to both incidents to come forward.
