A clinical trial to treat people suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee is to be underway across Europe by the end of the year.

A clinical trial to treat people suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee is to be underway across Europe by the end of the year.

The project, which is being coordinated by REMEDI at NUI Galway, is expected to give new hope to patients suffering from the condition.

The incurable disease causes severe and chronic pain.

The clinical trial will be delivered across 10 hospitals in Europe involving 150 patients.
