The funeral of a three-year-old boy who was killed in a crash in Co Monaghan is underway.

Eoin O'Neill - an only child - died from injuries sustained in the collision at Annamarron, on the N2 Dublin/Derry Road on Monday evening.

His mother, who was driving the family car, is still recovering from serious injuries.

The funeral is taking place at the Sacred Heart Church, Castleblayney. Eoin will be buried afterwards in the nearby churchyard.

An American woman, 26-year-old Maria Goode, who was holidaying in Ireland, was charged on Wednesday with dangerous driving causing Eoin's death.

She is due to appear in court again on May 21.
