The post mortem on the body of a man found in a freezer in Galway, which was due to take place today, has been deferred and will now happen tomorrow at the earliest.

Gardaí revealed earlier today that the man was a well-known drug-dealer from Dublin.

He has been identified as 51-year-old Patrick McCormack, with addresses on the Malahide Road and Foley St in Dublin.

It is thought his body could have been in cold storage at the back of a fish shop in Galway for up to four years.

Gardaí have refused to comment on reports that his hands were tied and that he appeared to have been tortured.

A murder investigation is underway.
