Talks on the possible extension of the Croke Park agreement have run into difficulty this evening.

Four unions have walked out on discussions saying the Government's agenda is unworkable.

Talks have centred on cutting an extra €1bn from the State payroll.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, UNITE, the Irish Medical Organisation and the Civil Public and Services Union believe that's unrealistic.
