Four people aged between 19 and 50 have been arrested in early-morning raids in Cork.

Four people aged between 19 and 50 have been arrested in early-morning raids in Cork.

The raids took place at two houses on the north side of city.

It is understood officers are investigating money-laundering offences.

Two men aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were arrested and are being detained at various garda stations around the city under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

Today's operation follows a number of arrests last week in the Gurranabraher and Fairhill area of Cork.
