Former Anglo manager examined as part of FitzPatrick case14/03/2013 - 12:04:01
A former manager at Anglo Irish Bank is being examined as part of High Court bankruptcy proceedings against Sean FitzPatrick.
Mark Redmond is answering questions about the ownership of the Woolgate Exchange, a high rise office block in London.
FitzPatrick, the bankrupt former chairman of Anglo Irish Bank, is expected to be called for cross examination on investments made in the Woolgate Exchange in London.
The questions are being raised by lawyers for the court official overseeing his , Chris Lehane.
At the moment former Anglo employee Redmond, who worked on the bank's lending team, is giving evidence that he did work on FitzPatrick's investment portfolio.
This took up a lot of his time, he said, but it would have been the norm.
He says FitzPatrick invested £1m (€1.1m) in Woolgate in 2006 and then took up another £250,000 (€288,000) investment slot which was put into Redmond's name.
The former Anglo manager says he was delighted when his former boss offered him the benefit of the investment when it matured.
