Former Anglo boss FitzPatrick set for court appearance

The case of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Seán FitzPatrick comes back before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court this morning.

Along with former Anglo directors Willie McAteer and Patrick Whelan, Mr FitzPatrick is charged with providing unlawful financial assistance to individuals to buy shares in the bank.

The 64-year-old from Greystones, Co Wicklow, is also accused of deceiving the failed bank’s auditors in relation to his personal loans between 2002 and 2007.

The three men made their first appearance at the Circuit Court in November.
