The Food Safety Authority has said they received almost 3,000 complaints by consumers relating to food, food premises and food labelling in 2015.

The Food Safety Authority has said they received almost 3,000 complaints by consumers relating to food, food premises and food labelling in 2015.

The number of complaints about poor hygiene standards showed an increase of 14% on 2014.

Complaints about incorrect information on food labelling were up 10%.

They have reminded the public that their advice line, which operates from 9am to 5pm weekdays, is manned by trained advisors and food scientists.
