Fleet of racing trimarans arrives in Dun Laoghaire

A fleet of trimarans has arrived in Dun Laoghaire. The boats are taking part in a high-speed race around Europe.

A trimaran is unique because it has three hulls.

Conditions were difficult as the boats docked before 1am. The top three boats all finished within a mile of each other.

Host venue manager for the Dun Laoghaire stopover of the MOD 70 European tour Andy Tourell said wind conditions were very frustrating.

"It was anybody's game right to the finish with such patchy wind," he said.
