Fire in Sligo hotel forces wedding to move

A fire in a Co Sligo hotel has forced the facility to close for the coming weeks.

The blaze started in the kitchen of the Ocean Sands in Inishcrone just after 3am today. More than 100 people were evacuated from the hotel after its kitchen went on fire overnight.

No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is now being investigated.

The hotel said it would be a number of weeks before it reopened.

A wedding due to be held there today has been moved to Ballina in Co Mayo as a result of the fire.
