Gardaí and members of the fire service are currently at the scene of a fire at a disused building in county Mayo.

Fire breaks out in Co Mayo near Knock Airport

Gardaí say a fire at a disused warehouse in Co Mayo has been brought under control.

The blaze, which broke out this evening at the empty building around a quarter of a mile from Knock Airport, is still burning but poses no danger.

A spokesperson for Knock airport said the fire broke out after all flights had finished for the day.

And, scheduled flights from Knock tomorrow morning will not be affected.
