Findus seek legal advice over horse meat scandal


The Swedish food giant Findus is taking legal advice over the horse meat scandal.

It says early results from an internal investigation suggest the presence of horse meat in frozen lasagne supplied by a French firm was not accidental.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that lasagnes containing up to 100 per cent horse meat were sold in Irish supermarkets.

Meanwhile, the French Ministry for Agriculture says they consider the issue a matter of criminal fraud.
