Final boarding call for Crazy Horse Invincible
An airline thought it was the victim of a prank when a Mr Crazy Horse Invincible made an internet booking for a flight to Eastern Europe.
And when his credit card payment was accepted, concerned staff at Jet2.com started to investigate what they thought had to be a card fraud.
But the strangely named passenger is real, and today he visited Belfast International Airport to show Jet2 he is real and that his passport – in the name of Crazy Horse Invincible – is in order.
He wanted to make sure there would be no problems when he flies out to Prague on December 20 to spend Christmas with a friend, Spaceman Africa. Yes, he’s real as well.
Teesside-born Crazy Horse is a 26-year-old part-time bakery assistant, now living in Belfast.
Last year the Middlesbrough supporter changed his name from Jeremy Brown by deed poll, after a boozy night out partying.
He said: “It was one of those nights – I think Boro had won – so me and a mate were celebrating. You have a few too many and you come up with crazy plans. Mine were quite literally Crazy.”
When the two men came round in the morning they decided to keep their new names, and started the process of getting them made legal.
He explained: “I got mine confirmed in August 2003 and my new passport arrived last November. My mate, Spaceman Africa, has got his new passport sorted too.
“I’m meeting Spaceman in Prague. We’re staying there for Christmas before moving on to meet a group of friends in Bratislava for New Year.”
Jet2 director Steve Lee said they operated a secure booking service through their website to ensure that both the airline and the public were not the victims of fraud.
“Crazy Horse’s name raised an eyebrow with the bookings team, so we had to double-check,” Mr Lee said.
