Figures expected to show rate of unemployment growth increasing
03/02/2010 - 07:50:27Live register figures from the CSO to be published this morning are expected to show an extra 13,300 people signing on in January.
This is a larger increase than the December figure of 10,900.
The unemployment rate is expected to be up to 12.7% with a total of 436,000 people signing on the dole.
The figures will be bad news for the Government and last night Fine Gael said the Finance Minister may have been premature to predict that the worst is over for the Irish economy.
