Fianna Fáil call on Taoiseach to remove Health Minister

Fianna Fáil is calling on the Taoiseach to remove the Health Minister from his position, after a new report from the HSE shows the number of people waiting for a hospital appointment with a consultant has almost doubled to 340,000 since last April.
More than two thirds of patients were waiting less than twelve months from the date of referral, but some 16,700 have been waiting for over 4 years for an appointment.
The report also shows that at the end of last month - the HSE was running a budget overspend of €270 million.
Fianna Fáil is accusing the Health Minister of misleading the Dáil last night, by withholding what the party has said is "damning information" until after yesterday's vote of confidence in James Reilly.
The party's Health spokesperson, Billy Kelleher, has said that the report raises serious questions about last night's Dáil debate and said that Minister Reilly must go.
