FG publishes ‘Faircare’ health service reform plans

Fine Gael has published proposals which it says will revolutionise the health service and make top-class hospital care possible for all citizens in the State.

The "Faircare" plan is modelled on the Dutch system where everybody has mandatory health insurance which is either subsidised or fully financed by the State.

Fine Gael spokesperson on Health, Doctor James Reilly, says many aspects of healthcare would be changed and in the area of surgery alone, follow-up treatment in the home would become the norm.
