FG demands legislation to halt food testing on children

Fine Gael is calling for new legislation to protect primary school children following reports that they are being used to test fast food products.

Reports this morning say Dublin Institute of Technology has been carrying out market research that involved getting children at 10 schools to taste and evaluate products like crisps and burgers.

Speaking in the Dáil this morning, Fine Gael TD Denis Naughten demanded that Health Minister Mary Harney take immediate action to halt the practice.
