FG claim Govt campaign harmed their support

A Fine Gael frontbencher says he thinks his party may have suffered for siding with the Government in the run up to the Lisbon treaty referendum.

Alan Shatter was responding to the latest Sunday Business Post opinion poll, which shows a drop in support for Fine Gael for the fourth month in a row.

Support for Fianna Fáil remains steady at 40%, despite the public's rejection of the Lisbon treaty.

Deputy Shatter says taking a bi-partisan approach did not do his party any favours.
