A female cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with an articulated truck in Limerick this morning.

A female cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with an articulated truck in Limerick this morning.

The collision happened happened at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr. Matthew Bridge and Charlotte's Quay at 7.30am.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway in the area, which is close to The Hunt Museum, is closed and diversions are in place.

The driver of the truck was not seriously injured but is being treated for shock.

Gardai at Henry Street are investigating.
