Fears were mounting tonight for the safety of a Dublin teenager who has been missing for almost a fortnight.

Search teams and the Garda helicopter have been trying to track down 17-year-old Daniel McAnaspie since he disappeared last month.

He was last seen on the afternoon of February 26 on Whitestown Avenue in Blanchardstown in the west of the city.

Renewing the Garda appeal for information, Superintendent Dave Dowling said officers had been making house-to-house inquiries.

“At this point in time, gardaí now have serious concerns for Daniel’s safety,” he added.

“As with any investigation, our efforts are greatly enhanced by assistance from the public and for that reason I want to appeal again today for anyone with information about Daniel to contact us.”

Daniel is described as being 5’7“, of slim build with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing navy tracksuit bottoms, a navy jacket and white running shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown garda station on 01 666 7000.
