Family to bury Tyrone assault victim in Monaghan today
07/01/2013 - 08:09:23The funeral will take place later of 19-year-old Jason McGovern, who died after he was assaulted in Omagh, Co. Tyrone on the night of December 30.
The Monaghan student was found dead in his friend's house in Emyvale in Co. Monaghan on New Year's Eve.
Post mortem results found he died from severe head injuries.
Five men were charged with affray in connection with his death in Belfast over the weekend.
His funeral mass takes place at St. Patrick’s Church, in Corracrin in Co. Monaghan at 11am this morning.
He will be buried afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
