A family of five have been rescued on Lough Derg after the boat they were ran aground.

A family of five have been rescued on Lough Derg after the boat they were ran aground.

The alarm was raised at around a 4.15pm, when the 35 foot vessel hit rocks at Ryan’s Point.

Lough Derg lifeboat attended the scene.

All five people onboard were wearing lifejackets and were rescued successfully.
