The Chief Justice has welcomed the news that a site for a Family Law Court has been secured.
Susan Denham says the acre of land on Hammond Lane in Dublin will merge the three centres which currently handle family cases and allow for greater support services to be provided.
The Office of Public Works has provided no clear timeline, budget or planning permission information available for the site.
But Ms Denham said she's confident that when it's finished, the new court will be a valuable resource.
2I'm absolutely delighted with this development," she said. "It's something that we've been looking for for a very long time - to have a family law centre in the heart of the legal quarter.
"All the services will be available to the families who come into court. Families are very vulnerable, and they need a lot more than the court service itself."
