Family escape house fire in Co Galway
23/05/2007 - 10:32:18A Galway family has had a lucky escape from a fire that burned their house to the ground last night.
The fire broke out at the thatched house in Stradbally North, Clarinbridge, just before 10pm.
Units of the fire brigade from Galway, Gort and Athenry battled the blaze for nearly six hours.
The family managed to escape uninjured and some possessions were salvaged before the house was totally destroyed in the fire.
