Irish people with fair skin will be banned from using sunbeds under new legislation.

Irish people with fair skin will be banned from using sunbeds under new legislation.

The Cabinet has now rubber stamped the drafting of a new Bill, which will see the use of sunbeds regulated in Ireland.

Operators will not be able to allow customers who have Type 1 skin, also known as very fair skin, from using the sunbeds.

The legislation, which will be introduced later this year, will also see under-18s banned from using the beds.
