Facebook to create 100 more jobs in Dublin expansion
Facebook is to create more than 100 new jobs in Dublin.
The social networking site is seeking staff to work in a range of functions - and has already kicked off the hiring process.
Facebook’s Dublin office is its international headquarters, and currently employs around 400 people.
"The roles will have a significant economic impact and Facebook’s Dublin operation works closely with the Irish government, via the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and IDA Ireland," a statement from IDA Ireland said.
" Today’s announcement of a significant expansion by one of the biggest companies on the internet, with the creation of 100 high-end jobs, is a major endorsement of the tech environment in Dublin and further confirmation of our city’s status as the internet capital of Europe," Jobs and Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton said.
"This represents a significant economic commitment to Ireland by Facebook and I wish them every success with their operations here”.

ICT Ireland, the IBEC group that represents the high-tech sector, today welcomed the announcement.
ICT Ireland Director Paul Sweetman said: “The growth of the technology sector in Ireland is continuing at pace. Over 720 jobs have now been announcement since the start of the year by multinational and indigenous technology companies. Today’s announcement reaffirms Ireland’s reputation as a global technology hub. To continue this growth, visa reform and continued educational supports are needed.”
