Portlaoise Prison opens new block
23/11/2009 - 16:25:28A new block in Portlaoise Prison has officially opened.
It includes 60 double cells and 75 single cells, increasing the overall capacity at the prison to 300.
The facility also includes an education unit and a library.
The block has been opened by the Justice Minister Dermot Ahern.
