Up to 50,000 without water in Cork

Queues have been forming at tankers being used to provide a supply of drinking water to 50,000 people living on the northside of Cork city.

The local mains supply is likely to remain off until at least next weekend, after a major waterworks was flooded by the river Lee.

Gardaí have appealed to elderly people to contact them in Gurranbraher, if they still don't have access to drinking water.
