Gardaí probe death of pedestrian in Galway

Gardaí in Co Galway are investigating a crash at Leenane that claimed the life of a 37-year-old woman.

The pedestrian died in hospital in the early hours of this morning after being hit by a van on the Cliften to Westport Road yesterday afternoon.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination and motorists are being advised that diversions are in place.
