Exporters call for ‘yes’ vote in Lisbon re-run

The organisation representing exporting firms in Ireland has held a press conference today to call for a 'yes' vote in the re-run of the Lisbon Treaty referendum later this year.

The Irish Exporters Association claims Ireland would be in deep trouble if voters fail to ratify the treaty.

It says almost half of all Irish produce is purchased by European customers and Ireland's economic recovery hinges on the country's ability to export to an expanding Europe.
