Result of Aer Lingus maintenance workers ballot delayed

Concerns are growing that Aer Lingus will cut more than 1,100 jobs after some of its staff rejected a cost-cutting plan.
The result of the final ballot of maintenance workers at the airline had been due this afternoon, but it has been delayed until tomorrow.
Three staff groupings have already voted to accept the restructuring deal, however cabin crew have rejected the plan.
It is now feared the carrier will press ahead with its contingency plan to axe 1,100 staff along with a major scaling back of routes.
