Aer Lingus board meet to discuss plan

The board of Aer Lingus is to hold an emergency meeting this morning to discuss the result of the ballot on the airline's cost-cutting plan.
Four of the staff groupings have voted to accept the €97m restructuring deal - which includes shedding more than 600 jobs.
However, fears are growing Aer Lingus will press ahead with a contingency plan to axe 1,100 jobs - after cabin crew voted to reject the cost saving measures.
Last night the craft workers became the latest staff grouping to back the deal.
Aer Lingus said that it will not comment on the outcome of the ballots until after today's emergency board meeting.
