Public servants to ramp up pay cuts protest
02/03/2010 - 07:34:18Public servants are to escalate their protest against pay cuts after low-paid civil servants last night voted in favour of strike action.
The Civil and Public Services Union ballot was carried by an 83% majority on a turnout of 76%.
Up to now, CPSU members were participating in a work to rule, without widespread disruption or inconvenience to the public.
However CPSU general secretary Blair Horan says that action will now escalate unless the government reconsiders the cuts.
