The Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a viable explosive device in Dublin.

The Defence Forces were called to Turvey Avenue in Inchicore earlier this afternoon.

The area had been cordoned off and local residents were evacuated for a short time.

Following a controlled explosion, the device was made safe.
