EU phases in new plastic driving licence
New smaller plastic driving licences are to be phased in starting from today.
Anyone with old paper licences cannot apply for a new one until their paper ones have expired.
The new credit-card sized licence will be standardised across European countries, and will carry a microchip to avoid fraud.
There will also be an option on the card for people to chose to become organ donors.
