A new report to be published today has advocated providing funding for private companies to take on jobseekers for work experience.

A new report to be published today has advocated providing funding for private companies to take on jobseekers for work experience.

The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) has published the findings as part of a series of studies on how best Ireland can achieve renewal.

On employment, the research institute claims that we need to help job-seekers to search for jobs, and teach them how to look for jobs while subsidising work experience.

While on infrastructure, researchers have cautioned against an "optimism bias" that leads planners to under-budget on transport projects, while over-projecting expected passenger numbers.
