ESB issues warning to parents over fallen power lines

The ESB is warning parents to keep an eye on their children playing outdoors this week.

The company is concerned that fallen power lines could pose a risk to public safety, especially during the mid-term break

Over a quarter of a million customers were left without supplies after last week's storm wreaked havoc with the network.

Repair crews said there are around 20,000 people still left in the dark, however they hope to reconnect everyone by Thursday at the latest.

Members of the public who come across fallen lines are urged to stay as far away as possible and contact ESB immediately.
