Enda Kenny says election has brought 'sense of liberty' to politicians

The acting Taoiseach has said the decision of voters has led to a sense of liberty for politicians.

Enda Kenny has said the way politics is conducted here will - never be the same again - as a result of February's vote.

Negotiations between a variety of groupings of Fine Gael and Fianna Fail and Independent TDs will resume on Monday.

Speaking last night Mr Kenny said his party would now work towards developing a foundation document for a partnership government: “And I actually find a sense of liberty here.

“We have got to have and will have a very changed attitude of Government in terms of the way it goes about its business.

“A very changed way from the public service in the way that it services that Government Department, Ministers and the public, and a changed way in terms of opposition politics.

“ It is never going to be the same again.”
