Employment Equality Bill defeated in Seanad

The Employment Equality Bill has been defeated in the Seanad this evening.

Fianna Fáil senator Averil Power brought forward the Bill which sought to amend the Employment Equality Act 1998 to remove any prospect of employees in religious run institutions being discriminated against based on their sexuality.

GLEN - the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network - says it's disappointed at the defeat of the Bill tonight.
