Emotional welcome home for crew of L.É. Róisín after search & rescue mission

Family and well-wishers are welcoming Irish Navy personnell aboard the L.É. Róisín home in Haulbowline, Cork this morning.

The naval vessel has completed a 10-week humanitarian search & rescue mission in the Mediterranean.

More than 1,200 people were rescued during the operation.

The ship will be replaced by L.É. James Joyce, which is expected to commence search and rescue operations shortly.
