A Turkish Airlines spokeswoman said the incident was a “false alert”.
“The plane has continued its flight after the termination of necessary procedures,” she added.
The plane has just taken off after searches of the plane were carried out, but no explosive material was found.

After the plane touched down, the passengers and crew were evacuated to the terminal building.
They are been questioned by Gardaí, as searches of the plane and its contents are carried out.
This security operation continues, but as of yet no explosive material has been found.
It is not yet known whether the 227 people on board will be able to complete their journeys to Istanbul today, or whether they will have to stay overnight in the region.

227 passengers and crew have been safely evacuated from the aircraft which has been moved to a remote location at the airport.

Niall Maloney is airport operations director at Shanon: “we have had a Turkish Airlines flight number 34 which was routing Houston to Istanbul, a Boeing 777 that has diverted to Shannon, following a security issue.
“The aircraft has safely landed in Shannon and is now subject to a follow-up with the Garda Siochana.”
A spokesperson for Shannon airport has confirmed that a Turkish Airlines flight no 34 Boeing 777, with 209 passengers plus crew on board, routing Houston Texas to Istanbul has diverted to Shannon airport following a security issue.
The aircraft landed safely at 11.02 am and all passengers have now disembarked from the aircraft.
The incident is now the subject of a follow-up investigation by an Garda Siochana.
A transatlantic jet has been forced to divert to Shannon Airport following an alleged bomb threat.
Turkish Airlines flight 34 was travelling from Houston, Texas to Istanbul when the security alert began.
It is understood that the crew became aware of the threat after a written note was discovered on board.
A spokesperson for Shannon Airport has confirmed the flight has been diverted to Shannon Airport but declined to comment on the reason for the diversion.
Emergency services began assembling at the airport shortly before 9.00am after news of the incident was communicated to Irish authorities.
Units of the local authority fire service from Shannon and Ennis along with ambulances and Gardaí are standing by for the aircrafts arrival.
The Boeing 777-300 is expected to be directed to a remote parking location where passengers will disembark.
The jet will then remain parked until its scheduled flight time to Istanbul elapses. Authorities will then inspect the aircraft and speak to the crew.
