Emergency aid recipient numbers double in two years
The number of homeowners in receipt of emergency State aid has doubled in two years.
The Irish Independent is reporting that 17,500 families are getting the mortgage interest supplement, compared to 8,000 at the end of 2008.
The payment averages at €316 a month.
