Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a woman was knocked down during a car robbery in Dublin city.

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a woman was knocked down during a car robbery in Dublin city.

Investigating officers say an elderly woman was struck by a car, as youths were attempting to steal the vehicle on Mountjoy Street on the northside of the city at around 4pm this afternoon.

The elderly woman was taken to the Mater hospital for treatment on her injuries, which are described as non-life threatening.

The car involved in the incident was later found at Hardwick flats.

No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
