A man in his late 60s has died after being struck by a car in Co Cork this evening.

A man in his late 60s has died after being struck by a car in Co Cork this evening.

The pedestrian was killed on the N25 Carrigtwohill to Midleton road at approximately 6.45pm.

His body remains at the scene and one lane of the road remains open to facilitate a Garda forensic examination.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Cobh Garda Station on 021-4908530, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
