A man in his early 80s has been killed in a crash in Co. Cork.

A man in his early 80s has been killed in a crash in Co. Cork.

The man, who was driving the car and alone at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision occurred at approximately 2.30pm today at Ballinagoul, Knockraha, Co. Cork.

The driver's body has been transferred to Cork University Hospital for Post Mortem. The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Glanmire garda station on 021-4821002, The Garda Confidentaial Line on 1800-666-111, or any garda station.
