A man has died following a road accident in Co Limerick.

A man has died following a road accident in Co Limerick.

The crash, involving a car and a 4x4 vehicle, occurred shortly after 2pm yesterday afternoon near Lisnagry on the N7, Limerick to Dublin road.

A man in his late 70s, who was travelling in the car with another elderly man, died in hospital last night, after he sustained serious injuries in the collision.

The man who was travelling with the deceased is in a critical condition at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The driver of the 4x4 was treated in hospital for minor injuries and shock.
