Elaine O'Hara diary entries reveal urge to self-harm

The trial of Graham Dwyer has heard today that diary entries were found on Elaine O'Hara's laptop where she said she felt angry, sad and lonely and had an urge to self-harm.

Mr Dwyer, an architect from Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies murdering her in the Dublin mountains in August 2012, in what the prosecution alleges to have been a sexually motivated stabbing.

Evidence resumed with further details of documents found on the hard drive of Elaine O'Hara's laptops - an Apple MacBook and a blue HP Compaq.

Detective Garda Bríd Wallace has told the Central Criminal Court that the entries on the childcare worker's HP Compaq date from November 2010.

She revealed computer diary entries would appear to have been written by the childcare worker.

The author complains: “I'm angry inside because I'm so sad and lonely..I can't tell anyone..they'll say it's my fault because I haven't gone and made friends...but it's easier for them”.

The entries also describe a physical urge to self harm.

Det Garda Wallace said Elaine O'Hara appears to have had two or probably three profiles on the S&M web site alt.com - subOrslaveforyou, helpmelearn and submissive391.

She detailed fragments of communications with various other users.

She also retrieved some search terms entered on the website bestgore.com on Elaine O'Hara's Apple Mac in July 2012.

These included “women hanging”, “prostitute stabbing” and “Swedish man committing suicide live”.

The trial continues.
