Ear bitten off in Cork assault
Gardaí in Cork are investigating an incident in which a man had part of his ear bitten off during an assault early this morning.
The 22-year-old student was injured after a row broke out in a fast food restaurant in Cork city centre and spilled out onto the street.
The man had emergency surgery at a local hospital.
Detectives are examining CCTV footage from a number of premises in the area to identify the attacker.
