Dublin promised spectacular air show today
A sensational air display over the skies of Dublin is promised this afternoon.
Over 30 aircraft will fly through the city at 2pm this afternoon to celebrate Flightfest 2013 as part of The Gathering.
The event features a large variety of aircraft, flying low from Dublin Airport, through to Dublin Port.
More than 100,000 people from all over Ireland and abroad are expected to attend.
Donal Handley from the Irish Aviation Authority is expecting an incredible display.
"It'll be low enough that if an A380 aircraft is flying overhead or a Vulcan B2 strategic bomber is flying overhead, it doesn't matter what height they're at - it's going to be impressive, that's the one thing I could say," he said.
"It's up to the air commander on the day and to the airline - they can decide themselves.
"But essentially, we do have a minimum height, we don't have to go into that, but it will be an impressive feat. We're pretty excited about that."
